Digital Desk: Businessman Darshan Hiranandani said on Thursday that he had accessed the Modi government's website using Lok Sabha member Mahua Moitra's login information. Moitra is a member of the TMC.
Hiranandani acknowledged in a written document that he used Moitra to target Adani after the state-owned giant Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) reserved capacity at the Gujarat-based conglomerate's Dhamra LNG import terminal in Odisha rather than at his company's proposed project.
Darshan claimed that he asked inquiries of the federal government using the Rajya Sabha MP's parliamentary login.
He said that Mahua "made frequent demands" for "expensive luxury items, providing support on the renovation of her officially allotted bungalow in Delhi, travel expenses, holidays, etc, apart from providing secretarial and logistical help for her travels within India and to different parts of the world," according to PTI news agency.
Nishikant Dubey, a BJP member from Godda, wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla earlier this week requesting the creation of an investigative committee to look into the accusations made against her.
Dubey, who has repeatedly argued with Moitra, highlighted a letter from lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai in which he asserted that there was "irrefutable evidence" that Moitra and business magnate Darshan Hiranandani exchanged "bribes" in order for her to ask questions in Parliament.
The BJP MP asserted that Dehadrai had discovered through research that, of the 61 queries Moitra recently put forward, 51 were intended to advance the commercial interests of Hiranandani and his company.
He stated that Dehadrai had supported his charges by attaching pertinent documents that were shared with the LS secretariat and that she would target the PM and the home minister as a cover for her "nexus" with the business group.
Asserting that she had been targeted out for bringing up allegations of favouritism towards the Adani group and citing her own allegation on Dubey's educational background, Moitra had refuted the accusations.
