Digital Desk: In a savage reply to trolls who targeted TMC MP Mahua Moitra by sharing personal photos with Shashi Tharoor, Moitra said, "Bengal’s women live a life, not a lie." Her reply came in response to X users who shared her photos of raising a toast with the Congress MP and smoking a cigar.

In her tweet, Mahua Moitra said, “Most amused to see some personal photos of me being circulated on social media by @BJP4India‘s troll sena. I like a green dress better than a white blouse. And why bother cropping - show the rest of the folks at dinner as well. Bengal’s women live a life. Not a lie."

On social media site X, a lot of users posted her images. She was frequently criticized for smoking, being a divorcee, and going out with Shashi Tharoor. Shashi Tharoor was rarely the focus of tweets, but X was trending with a hashtag against Mohua Moitra.

The Lok Sabha member stated in her post that the BJP IT cell was responsible for the photos' social media success. She added that rather than trimming the party shot, the IT cell should submit the entire image.

The photo of Mahua Moitra smoking a cigar and drinking champagne quickly became popular online. She appeared alongside Shashi Tharoor in one of the pictures. Mahua Moitra emphasized that she doesn't smoke and that she was joking about when she posed for the picture.

Mahua Moitra replied to one of the comments on her X post by stating that she does not smoke and that she is also extremely allergic to smoking.

"I don't smoke. I have a serious tobacco allergy. I was merely posing for a joke with a friend's cigar," she replied to one user.

Her partying photographs went viral on social media on Sunday. "One sip and one puff at a moment, I.N.D.I Jamaat......strengthening the ties. Btw, why is #HaramiMahua popular right now?" a user on X noted.
