    Digital Desk: The Fatehpur Police in Uttar Pradesh claim that a man who was addicted to online gaming killed his mother to collect on her life insurance policy and settle his massive debts. In the case, Himanshu, the defendant, was charged with killing his mother in order to receive an insurance claim of Rs 50 lakh and disposing of her body near the Yamuna riverfront.

    According to the police report, Himanshu was engrossed in gaming. The police said that because of his habit, he took out loans to support his addiction, which resulted in him taking out debts totaling over Rs 4 lakh to keep playing. He developed a plan in order to repay loans that kept coming in.

    Himanshu allegedly stole the jewellery from his paternal aunt and used the money to get life insurance for his parents for Rs 50 lakh, according to a second SP from Fatehpur Later, when his father was not around, he is said to have strangled his mother Prabha to death. After that, he put the body in a jute bag and took the body to the Yamuna river bank to be disposed of by tractor. 

    When Roshan Singh, Himanshu's father, got home, he discovered that his son and wife were gone from the temple in Chitrakoot. After asking around and visiting his brother's nearby home, he found that no one knew where Prabha was. Roshan called the police after hearing from a neighbour that Himanshu was riding a tractor close to the river.

    After that, not long after Prabha's body was discovered close to the Yamuna River, Himanshu was apprehended. While being interrogated, Himanshu disclosed the shocking plot he planned to murder his mother to settle his debts.

    According to NDTV, officer Vijay Shankar Mishra stated, "The son was on the run after killing his mother. We caught him and unearthed the sinister crime.”
