    Manipur teen designing 'Iron Man' suit recieves help from Anand Mahindra

    Imphal: A teen from Manipur recieved help and support from Anand Mahindra. The youth bagged headlines for creating an 'Iron Man' suit from stationary and digital waste. The news went viral over social media platforms. 





    21-year old Ningombam Prem made waves after he created 'Iron Man', is now eying to become a mechanical inventor. Industrialist Anand Mahindra assured help for his complete profession.





    Prem has made seven robot suits, including battery-powered Iron Man helmet and arms.His video was shared by a news portal and re-shared by Anand Mahindra. It received lots of recognition and appreciation all over social media platforms.

    "I am awestruck & inspired by Prem's ambition & skills that have flowered despite- not because of – his circumstances. Many of us from privileged backgrounds never appreciated enough the resources we were given. But Prem uses scrap material & basic tools to shape his creations," Mahindra tweeted.





    In a different tweet, Anand said Mahindra Group's Chief Design Officer would mentor the career and education for Prem. He also said about taking full responsibility for the education Prem's siblings.









    "Representatives of Mahindra Groups had visited my poor family and asked about myself, my works and family background. My mother, who runs a small tea outlet, to augment the family, also narrated our humble living," Prem notified on Saturday.





    "As I took science in my standard XII. I want to study engineering. According to the Mahindra team, a good engineering college would be chosen by them for me," he stated.

    "I didn't think that I would study engineering because of our poor family income. Before Mahindra people visited us, I thought my life would limit here doing small jobs. I truly thank Sir Anand Mahindra for extending such a chance to mentor me. Its great that sir is sponsoring education of my siblings," Prem said.





    "I will strive hard to become a mechanical inventor and bring fame for the nation and the state," he added.





    As an enthusiastic movie buff, Prem said he wants to introduce this scientific work in Manipuri cinema. He believes Manipur cinema has most films based on romantic tales.
