Digital Desk: The opposition is slamming the administration after a video of cruelty against two Kuki women in Manipur leaked. The opposition demanded a lengthy debate in Parliament on the situation in Manipur, as well as a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi

According to the BJP, if there is mention of Manipur, there would be talk of crimes against women in Bengal and Rajasthan as well.

Reportedly, the opposition party reminded that BJP governs Manipur, whereas the Trinamool Congress governs West Bengal and the Congress governs Rajasthan. Despite the squabble between the BJP and the opposition, the administration has responded to MPs' questions about abuses with women.

Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra stated in a letter replying to four MPs' questions that between 2017 and 2021, 1278 incidents of murder of women following rape or gang rape were filed in 28 states. Among these, Uttar Pradesh was first and Assam ranked second. In Uttar Pradesh, 218 cases were registered, and 191 cases were registered in Assam.
