Digital Desk: The approaching Monsoon session of Parliament will take place from July 20 to August 11, according to Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi. The Minister, in a statement, asked political parties to contribute to meaningful debates during the session.

According to earlier reports from Parliamentary sources, the Parliament may begin operations in the old building and then relocate to the new building in the middle.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new structure on May 28.

"The Parliamentary Monsoon Session of 2023 will begin on July 20 and will end on August 11. I strongly encourage all parties to contribute to productive discussions on legislative business and other items during the session," Joshi tweeted.

The session would last 23 days and would include 17 sittings, he stated in another Hindi tweet.

The session is anticipated to be tumultuous, with opposition parties banding together to present a united front against the Narendra Modi-led BJP in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections next year.

Furthermore, Parliament will convene at a time when Prime Minister Modi has made a strong case for a Uniform Civil Code, and attempts are being made to accelerate consultations on the matter.

During the session, the government will probably introduce legislation to replace the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance, which effectively nullified a Supreme Court decision that granted the city government greater legislative and administrative control over "services" matters. The government will endeavour to pass the bill as soon as possible.

The Union Cabinet approved the National Research Foundation Bill on Wednesday, and it is also expected to be introduced. The planned foundation will be a new financing body designed to strengthen the country's research capabilities in science and technology.
