A preliminary assessment found that the fire
incident on March 26 in Pune was an isolated event, according to the company.
Nevertheless, a preemptive recall is being
issued of 1,441 scooters, and as a result, a detailed diagnostic and health
check will be conducted.
In addition, Ola Electric stated, "These
scooters will be inspected by our service engineers and will undergo a
comprehensive diagnostic test across all battery systems, thermal systems, and
safety systems." Ola Electric said its battery systems already comply with
and are tested for AIS 156, the latest proposed standard for India, as well as
being compliant with the European standard ECE 136.
A
number of electric two-wheelers have caught fire recently in various parts of
the country, causing manufacturers to recall their vehicles.
