Digital Desk: Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani has entered the competition to purchase the prestigious English football team Liverpool FC, a leading English daily reported.
The current owners of the English Premier League powerhouses, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who acquired the Merseyside club in October 2010, have reportedly hired Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to help them sell the Club.
The FSG is prepared to sell the club for 4 billion British pounds, according to "The Mirror."
According to the English daily, Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries and the seventh richest person in the world according to Forbes, has inquired about the club.

In a statement, FSG said: "There have been several recent ownership changes at EPL teams, as well as rumours of ownership changes, and naturally, we are frequently questioned about Fenway Sports Group's ownership in Liverpool.
FSG routinely receives interest expressions from outside parties looking to invest in Liverpool. FSG has previously stated that if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club, we would entertain new shareholders under the proper terms and conditions.
