    Digital Desk: The voter turnout in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections was 18% as of noon on Sunday. 

    According to the State Election Commission (SEC), voting is proceeding apace in all wards. 

    "So far, no unpleasant incidents have been reported. Voters are displaying strong interest, and polling has been smooth and pleasant thus far "SEC stated. 

    Earlier, until 10:30 a.m., approximately 9% of voters participated in civic body elections. 

    Voting for municipal body elections is underway in the national capital, despite heavy security.

    Voting for the 250 wards began at 8 a.m. and will end at 5:30 p.m. 

    Over 1.45 crore people are eligible to vote in the civic polls, which feature 1,349 candidates, setting the stage for the high-stakes struggle between the BJP, the AAP, and Congress. 

    The votes will be counted on December 7. 

    The overall number of voters in Delhi is 1,45,05,358 according to data supplied by State Election Commission officials, with 78,93,418 men, 66,10,879 females, and 1,061 transgender people. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is divided into 250 wards (MCD).

    For the elections, the Delhi State Election Commission has set up 13,638 polling booths. 

    According to the State Election Commission, a massive workforce of election officials and security agencies has worked tirelessly to prepare for polls in 13,638 polling stations across Delhi.
