Punjab Congress chief and MLA Amarinder Singh Raja was also on the same flight...
Digital Desk: IndiGo has apologized to customers after they experienced a very uncomfortable hour-long flight with the aircraft's air conditioning turned off due to a technical issue during peak temperatures.
Passengers posted images on Twitter of people using the aircraft's safety cards as hand fans. A perspiring flight attendant was also seen repeatedly passing wet wipes to passengers.
"We deeply apologize for the inconvenience our customers experienced during their recent travel with us. We take our customers' comfort and satisfaction seriously and regret the inconvenience on IndiGo flight 6E7261 from Chandigarh to Jaipur," the airline said in a statement.
The aircraft's air-conditioning system was tested when it arrived in Jaipur. "Aircraft were released for subsequent flights after thorough inspections and corrections," IndiGo stated in a statement.
Punjab Congress chief and MLA Amarinder Singh Raja was also present on the same flight. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "The most horrifying experience".
He continued, "We had to wait for about 10-15 minutes in the scorching heat in the queue, and to our shock, when we got on the plane, the ACs didn't work, and the flight took off without the ACs on."
"From takeoff to landing, the ACs were turned off, and all passengers were forced to suffer throughout the journey. During the flight, no one addressed the major concern. In fact, the air hostess 'generously' distributed tissue papers to the passengers to wipe away sweat," the MLA tweeted, along with a video taken inside the plane.
MLA Warring has requested the DGCI and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to take action against IndiGo.
