    Online Scam: Businessman loses Rs 64 lakh in a case of SIM swapping
    Digital Desk: Another online scam incident has been reported in Jaipur through a potential case of SIM swapping. A businessman from Jaipur has lost Rs 64 lakh through an online scam.

    The businessman's bank account was robbed of Rs 64 lakh, according to sources. After spotting a sequence of odd activities on his phone for two days, he lost his money. The Jaipur police did not rule out the prospect of an online scam leading to the crime.

    Ralesh Tatuka, 68, of Jaipur, was taken aback when he called his bank to ask about his balance after several transaction letdowns. The bank informed him that his account had only Rs 700 remaining, while his firm's account had solely Rs 300. Tatuka then went to the police station and filed a report on the online scam through SIM swapping.

    Tatuka conveyed to the police that his phone had gone dead on Friday evening. Unfortunately, the same defect was found on his business partner's phone as well. 

    The two partners decided to change SIM cards following a sequence of futile attempts. Tatuka and his friend then went to the telecom firm's headquarters and got two new SIM cards for their phones. Yet, the activation was postponed, and they could not operate the new sim cards right away.

    The two business associates logged into their firm's bank account for a transaction without expending much awareness to their sim cards. They were incompetent to log into their firm's bank accounts, so they tried to log in to their bank accounts but were unable to do so as well.

    Following a series of failures, the two partners reached their bank to check their account balance. Unfortunately, the bank notified them that their company's bank account had only 700 dollars remaining.

    The station house officer (SHO) in charge of the investigation, Satish Chand, informed that the probe into the online scam continues and the exact reason has yet to be identified. 

    The authorities are now looking into the technical specifics of the two phones to see if there were any security deficiencies. According to the information, mobile phones unexpectedly lost connectivity.

    "Hacking into two portable phones at the exact time is a challenging task. But we haven't headed out any possibilities yet," a source informed.
