Digital Desk: Massive sloganeering was witnessed in the Lok Sabha today by the Opposition parties as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was responding to the no-confidence motion moved against his government by the Opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc. The opposition shouted slogans demanding that the Prime Minister address the Manipur issue on the floor of the House. As PM Modi spoke on the no-confidence motion, the Lower House of Parliament echoed with "we want Manipur" slogans.

The aim of the Congress and the Opposition I.N.D.I.A coalition to move the no-trust motion was to force Modi to address the House on the issue of Manipur.

Modi launched a scathing attack on the I.N.D.I.A alliance, claiming that the no-confidence motion was a floor test for the opposition and that the BJP would secure a majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

"In a way, the Opposition's lack of confidence has always been fortunate for us. Today, I see that you (the opposition) have determined that the NDA and BJP will return to power in 2024 with a resounding win, breaking all past records, with the people's support," the PM said.

Targeting Modi as he spoke, the Trinamool Congress asked why he did not speak on the strife-torn Manipur. "50 minutes have passed ⏳ Not a word on #Manipur! Why PM @narendramodi?" tweeted the party's official handle.
