New Delhi: On the eve of 75th Independence day today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the Tricolour at the Red Fort and addressed the nation as part of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' with a yearlong celebration.
In his eighth address as the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid tribute to the Country's former leaders, including the First Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru, Babasaheb Ambedkar Sardar Patel.
During the speech at the rampart of Red Fort, PM Modi lauded India's Olympics Athletes, frontline and healthcare workers, and all of them who is serving the Country.
Following unfurling the National Flag, PM Modi stressing about the sacrifice of the freedom fighters, said, "I want to start it by wishing all the Indian citizens a Happy Independence Day. This is the day to remember our freedom fighters and the soldiers who had sacrifice their life's for our motherland. We are thankful to all of them."
Praising the 2020 Olympics contingents, Pm Modi stated, "The athletes who made us proud at Tokyo Olympics are present here today. I appeal all the nation to praise their achievements at the occasion of Independence Day. They not only our hearts but also inspire our future generation."
Reportedly, around 240 Olympians, support staff, Sports Authority of India, and sports federation officials are present at this year's Independence Day celebration at the Red Fort.
Appreciating all frontline workers and healthcare workers who help in the fight of covid-19, PM Modi said, "All the frontline workers, healthcare workers, sanitation workers and scientists are serving the nation day and night, they all need our appreciation who paid so much for the nation."
Additionally, PM Modi set the 100th Independence Day as a target to fulfill the Atmanirbhar Bharat plan.
"Now the poor nation knows the strength of government schemes as they have benefited from Ujjwala Scheme to Ayushman Bharat." said PM Modi.
Further, Modi said, now we have to move towards perfection, "100 percent villages have roads, 100 percent household have a bank account, 100 percent beneficiaries should have Ayushman Bharat card, 100 percent eligible persons should have a gas connection under Ujjwala Scheme."
Moreover, to nourish the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, PM Modi declared that all Sainik Schools across the nation will now be open for girls.
"In every field be it education or Olympics our Beti's is putting their mark, we have to ensure that they should be treated equally and should get equal oppurtunities." PM Modi said.
During the occasion, the Prime Minister launched the National Hydrogen Mission to make India the World's largest gas exporter.
"India is the only Country that is on the track to meet its climate goals. Green Hydrogen is the future of the World and I plan to make India the global Hub." Asserted PM Modi.
PM Modi also announced that the Centre would soon launch the Rs 100 lakh-crore Gati Shakti national infrastructure plan to boost the Country's economy.
