The site, also known as the ITPO complex, is poised to host the G20 Leaders Summit...
Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the redeveloped Pragati Maidan Complex with a 'puja' on July 26 (Wednesday) morning, followed by a cultural event in the evening attended by hundreds of guests, dignitaries, and other invitees, according to people familiar with the development.
The site, also known as the ITPO complex, is slated to host the G20 Leaders Summit, according to sources who requested anonymity. The renowned Summit is set to take place on September 9-10, 2023. From December 1, 2022, until November 30, 2023, India will preside over the G20. The organisation, which was founded in 1999, plays a critical role in defining and improving global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the European Union make up the Group of Twenty (G20). Its members account for over 85% of global GDP, more than 75% of global trade, and roughly two-thirds of the global population.
The International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), also known as the Pragati Maidan Complex, is India's largest meeting, incentives, conferences, and exhibits (MICE) venue, with a campus area of around 123 acres.
In terms of event space, the redeveloped and modern IECC Complex ranks among the Top 10 Exhibition and Convention Complexes in the world, competing with colossal names like the Hannover Exhibition Centre in Germany and the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai. The IECC's size and facilities are testaments to India's ability to organise world-class events on a huge scale.
A spectacular seating capacity of 7,000 individuals awaits on Level 3 of the Convention Centre, making it even larger than the famed Sydney Opera House's seating capacity of around 5500 in Australia. This amazing feature defines the IECC as a global arena capable of hosting mega conferences, international summits, and cultural extravaganzas.
The Exhibition Halls have seven unique locations for displaying products, inventions, and ideas. These cutting-edge rooms offer a great platform for exhibitors and businesses to engage with their target audience, fostering business growth and networking opportunities.
Among its many outstanding characteristics is a spectacular Amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 3,000 people. This magnificent amphitheatre, equivalent to three PVR cinemas combined, provides the stage for riveting performances, cultural presentations, and entertainment events, captivating the audience with its mesmerising environment.
The IECC prioritises visitor convenience, which is evident in the provision of nearly 5,500 vehicle parking places. The ease of access via signal-free roads means that tourists may reach the venue without difficulty.
