    Phone used for recording Rawat's helicopter crash sent for forensic test

    Nilgiris: In the latest development, the mobile phone of the man who had made the video of the chopper crash that took the life of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and 12 others have been sent for forensic examination, the police said.





    Reportedly, a wedding photographer identified as Joe Alias Kutty (55) from Ramanathapuram recorded the clip of the chopper just before it crashed.

    A press release of the Nilgiris police stated that they are investigating the matter from all possible angles to get a lead for the tragic accident. They had questioned Joe and was put under surveillance.





    Moreover, the police seek details from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board authorities to know whether there were any high transmission lines near the accident site. It also asked the India Meteorological Department in Chennai to provide details about the weather condition on the day of the incident.





    On December 8, an IAF Mi-17V5 chopper crashed at Katteri near Coonoor of Nilgiris district, killing CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife along with 11 other personnel.
