Political polarization and affinity of opposition leaders

Guwahati: Not for the first time have the leaders of both governing and opposition have broken people's conventional expectations concerning the discourse and attitude towards each other.

The former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Azad's farewell speech and the rejoinder of thanksgiving by the Prime Minister of India have been added to India's list of affinity leaderships. How can people of the nation try to conceptualize this affinity and association?

Reviewing the sentiments and emotions displayed by both the leaders during the Rajya Sabha session highlighted either the true sense of care between them or something cooking ahead in time for the upcoming political polarization in the nation.

During his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered appreciation remarks towards the leader of opposition Ghulam Nabi Ji. Similarly, Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi displayed intense eyes while presenting stories of Gujarat tourists killed in a terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir. He also thanked Modi for providing assistance and aid during the crisis.

The speech exchange on the last of Ghulam Nabi Ji in the House showed the bonding between leaders.

PM Modi stated, "Ghulam Nabi Ji is a man of inspiration. It is difficult for someone else to take his status and deliver the same dedication Ghulam Nabi Ji has provided for the state and the nation. It is often hard to find someone who keeps his country's unity and peace as a priority."

Addressing the members of the House, PM Modi lamented while praising Ghulam Nabi Ji for the period of the terror attack on Gujarat tourists years back.

The scene created in the upper house of Parliament hardly made us realize that both of the leaders presenting their speeches belonged to different parties. This scene has brought a sense of unity and solidarity among people. However, the owl-eyed critics have also pointed out the possibility of two party leaders prospect of being oneness.

Lately, critics have pointed out more possibilities of Ghulam Nabi Ji displaying the gap between parties through his remarks on his former party and the ruling party.

Ghulam Nabi remarked, "Only Supreme Court can determine on Article 370. Besides the apex court, the ruling government can solely do it, and the present government has cancelled it. How will they do it? And I cannot ensure you that Congress will get 300 seats in the 2024 elections. I pray that Congress wins 300 seats, but I don't see that happening now."

Change in attitude and aspirations after his last days in the upper house of Parliament indicates future changes possibly to appear.

Sources have stated that Jammu & Kashmir is likely to have its election next year and other five states in India. Can there be political support from Nabi's backhand towards the saffron party to contest firmly for the upcoming elections?
