Singh asked his ministry's staff to lead the nationwide "Nai Chetna" campaign by enlisting everyone's assistance.
Digital Desk: Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Member of Parliament for Begusaria, has once more stated that population control is essential due to the scarcity of resources. The Union Minister continued by saying that the law should be applied to everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs, and that people who break the law should have their voting privileges withdrawn.
"We need a population control bill because our resources are limited. China implemented the "one-child policy," managed its population, and made progress. How will we compete with China, where birth rates are 10 per minute in China and 30 per minute in India? "Giriraj Singh questioned.
"Everyone should be subject to the law, regardless of religion or sect, and those who disobey it shouldn't receive government assistance. Additionally, their voting rights should be taken, "Singh continued.
Giriraj Singh had earlier on Friday stated that any violence against women should not be viewed through the lens of religion and that such acts should be categorically denounced by everybody without any bias.
In his speech at an event to launch a month-long campaign against gender-based violence and discrimination, Singh observed that women frequently keep quiet about violence and remain silent even after becoming a victim out of concern for what other people will think about them.
"Today, people talk about (other subjects) on television. However, it is regrettable for India's political system that the suffering of daughters is determined by their faith “he added.
The minister for rural development and Panchayati raj added, "I am observing today that some women speak up (against gender-based abuse), while others do not, since people make political judgments (on their sufferings) based on the religion of these didis (older sisters)."
Singh asked his ministry's staff to lead the nationwide "Nai Chetna" campaign by enlisting everyone's assistance.
He emphasised that the government is dedicated to putting an end to gender-based violence and requested his ministry to involve everyone in the effort to empower women and give them the self-assurance they need to speak out against it.
Later, in a statement, the ministry quated Singh as stating, "Any violence against women should not be seen through the prism of religion and it should be opposed forthright by all without any prejudice."
