    losses, a businessman is accused of killing a guy in this city on Wednesday.



    color:black">According to Senior Superintendent of Police Ravjot Kaur Grewal,
    Gurpreet Singh of the Ramdas Nagar neighbourhood, his wife Khushdeep Kaur, and
    four other people have been detained for the murder of Sukhjeet Singh.



    color:black">According to authorities, the situation was discovered after
    Sukhjeet's wife Jeevandeep Kaur reported him missing.



    Gurpreet had experienced
    losses in his business and, according to the police, conspired with his wife
    and four other people, Sukhwinder Singh Sangha, Jaspal Singh, Dinesh Kumar, and
    Rajesh Kumar, to pretend to be dead in order to collect a 4 crore rupee
    insurance payout.



    HOW HE FAKED HIS DEATH



    In
    order to assassinate Sukhjeet, a local of the Sainpur neighbourhood, Gurpreet
    befriended him. They claimed that after the victim vanished on June 19 his wife
    reported him missing to the police.

    color:black">According to them, when Sukhjeet's motorbike and slippers were
    discovered next to a canal on Patiala Road, authorities initially believed he
    had committed himself.



    Gurpreet had been
    purchasing Sukhjeet's wife alcohol for the previous four days, according to
    Gurpreet's wife's police report. Gurpreet's relatives informed the police that
    he had passed away in a car accident when they enquired about this, according
    to the police.



    PLAN TO CLAIM RS 4 CRORE



    Because of this, Gurpreet's family was once more questioned.
    Then, they claimed, it was discovered that Gurpreet was still alive and had
    concocted a scheme with his wife and others to fake his death in order to
    collect insurance proceeds totaling Rs 4 crore.




    It was discovered during the
    investigation that Gurpreet's family had reported him dead in a traffic
    accident to the Rajpura police station on June 20.



    Gurpreet tampered with Sukhjeet's drink
    on June 19, rendering him comatose. The police claimed that after changing his
    clothes, Gurpreet crushed him under a truck so that he could not be recognised.



    They said that Gurpreet's wife
    recognised Sukhjeet's dismembered body as her husband's.
