Digital Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 12 Tughlaq Lane home in Delhi has been reassigned after his parliamentary membership was reinstated, officials said on Tuesday. He had abandoned the bungalow in April of this year, following his disqualification as an MP.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court has put a stay on his conviction in the 'Modi' surname criminal defamation case and his MP status has been restored, the bungalow has been reassigned to him, as reported by sources.

When asked about regaining his formal residence as an MP, Rahul informed news agency ANI, "Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai (The entire country is my home)".

Rahul was given the bungalow for the first time in 2004 after winning the Amethi constituency in the national elections.

The Lok Sabha Housing Committee issued Rahul Gandhi with a notice to vacate his residence at 12 Tughlaq Lane by April 22.

Rahul wrote to the Lok Sabha secretariat's deputy secretary, Mohit Rajan, in April, writing, "Thank you for your letter of March 27, 2023, regarding the cancellation of my accommodation at 12, Tughlaq Lane."

Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that he owes the "happy memories of my time spent here" to the people's mandate. "Without prejudice to my rights, I will, of course, abide by the details contained in your letter," he stated.
