Rahul Gandhi rides pillion on scooter to meet former Mizoram CM
The Congress MP showed an aura of adventure by hopping onto the backseat of a two-wheeler to get to Thanhawla's house.

Digital Desk: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Lal Thanhawla, former chief minister of Mizoram, teamed up as he set sail on his second day of journey through the state.

The Congress MP showed an aura of adventure by hopping onto the backseat of a two-wheeler to get to Thanhawla's house.

After engaging in a lively Padyatra from Chanmari (Aizawl) to Raj Bhawan, Rahul Gandhi previously expressed his sentiments as follows: "The Bharat Jodo Yatra highlighted the notion of India, where the varied languages, faiths, cultures, and traditions of our country are recognised and maintained. In Manipur, the BJP dismantled the concept. We won't let them and MNF carry out the same actions in Mizoram."

The Congress party released a list of 39 candidates for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly elections as Rahul Gandhi made his presence felt in Mizoram. Lalnunmawia Chuaungo for Aizawl North-I (ST), Lalrindika Ralte for Hachhek (ST), Lalhmingthanga Sailo for Dampa (ST), and Lalrinmawia for Aizawl North-II are notable choices.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a stinging attack on the in charge BJP government earlier yesterday in a furious speech in Mizoram's Aizawl, accusing them of creating economic chaos with demonetization and the Goods and Services Tax (GST). He contends that these policies are intended to destroy small and medium-sized businesses across the country rather than to promote growth.

Gandhi stated, "GST is designed to destroy small and medium businesses, it is designed to weaken farmers in India," at a public gathering in the capital of Mizoram. You are all aware of the results of the demonetization initiative, which our country's Prime Minister came up with.

The leader of the Congress also presented a bleak picture of the nation's economy, claiming that the recovery has been, at best, sluggish.

Upping the ante, he asserted, "If you want to understand PM's plan for building India's economy, it can be summed up in one word 'Adani'. That is the situation of the nation: everything is set up to benefit one businessman."

On a different note, Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the BJP has split the once-unified state of Manipur into two.

He said, "I visited Manipur a few months ago. The BJP has dismantled the concept of Manipur. It now consists of two states rather than one. The Prime Minister does not consider it vital to come there despite the fact that there have been murders, molestation of women, and the death of babies."
With 26 seats and a vote percentage of 37.8% in the 2018 elections, the Mizo National Front dominated the 40-member Mizoram assembly. Five seats were won by the Congress, and one by the BJP.

On November 7, elections are scheduled for Mizoram, on November 7 and November 17, for Chhattisgarh, on November 7 and November 17, for Madhya Pradesh, on November 17, for Rajasthan, on November 25, and for Telangana, on November 30. On December 3, every state's vote total will be revealed.

Notably, there will be two phases of voting in Chhattisgarh. Election dates have been announced, and because they take place before the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April or May of the following year, they carry a lot of weight in terms of the Model Code of Conduct.
