Digital Desk: Days after his Lok Sabha membership was reinstated, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is all set to visit his parliamentary constituency in Kerala's Wayanad on August 12. This news comes at a significant moment for both the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi himself, as he resumes his political duties after a four-month suspension from Parliament.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Working president VT Siddique confirmed the visit, stating, "Rahul Gandhi will be coming to Wayanad on 12th August." In a conversation with news agency ANI, Siddique mentioned that preparations for a warm reception have already begun, and a district Congress Committee meeting is scheduled for the following day. The Wayanad MP is expected to be present in the constituency on August 12th and 13th.

Rahul Gandhi's return to active parliamentary duties follows the restoration of his Lok Sabha membership on Monday. He had been suspended for four months, but his suspension was lifted after the Supreme Court suspended his conviction in a defamation case linked to his remarks about the Modi surname. This development allowed him to once again take part in Parliament sessions.

Notably, reports also indicate that Rahul Gandhi has received official confirmation to return to his residence at 12, Tughlaq Lane in Delhi. The Estate office has allotted him a bungalow as an MP, signaling his full-fledged return to his role as a Member of Parliament.

When asked about his emotions upon returning, Rahul Gandhi expressed a deep sense of attachment, stating, "Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai," which translates to "My home is the entire India." This sentiment highlights his strong connection to the nation and the people he serves. The Wayanad MP had to vacate his official residence earlier this year when he was disqualified as a member of the lower house on March 24.

In addition to his impending visit to Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi's political journey will extend beyond Kerala. The second leg of his Bharat Jodo Yatra is poised to begin from Gujarat and will reach all the way to the northeastern state of Meghalaya. Jairam Ramesh, a senior party leader, had previously discussed the possibility of a march spanning from Porbandar in Gujarat to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, with a tentative timeline "before November."

Rahul Gandhi's return to his parliamentary constituency and his upcoming nationwide journey signal his determination to engage with the people, address their concerns, and contribute actively to the political discourse of the country. As the political landscape continues to evolve, all eyes are on his efforts to galvanize support and connect with the citizens of India.
