Salman Khan firing case: Police recovers 2 pistols, bullets from Tapi river

Vicky Gupta, a 24-year-old accused, and Sagar Pal, a 21-year-old accused, are said to have fired outside Khan's home before riding off on a motorcycle.

Digital Desk: A search operation to recover weapons allegedly used in the firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's mansion resulted in the recovery of two pistols, magazines, and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat by the Mumbai police's crime branch, an official said on Tuesday.

According to the official, since the search started on Monday, the crime branch has found two handguns, three magazines, and thirteen bullets.

There are still twelve authorities there, including senior police inspector Daya Nayak, an "encounter specialist." According to him, scuba divers are assisting in the search.

The two arrested accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), allegedly fired outside 58-year-old Khan's house at the Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai on April 14 and then fled the spot on a motorbike.

They were apprehended on April 16 by combined teams of the Mumbai and Kutch police, based on sophisticated surveillance, from the grounds of a temple at Mata No Madh, close to Bhuj town in Gujarat.

After that, they were given to the Mumbai police to be investigated further.

After arriving in Surat by road from Mumbai after the firing incident, the two allegedly confessed to the police during interrogation that they had thrown the weapon into the Tapi river from a railway bridge as they were escaping to Bhuj in a train.

According to authorities, the two's primary goal in firing outside Khan's home was ostensibly to induce "terror."

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is incarcerated, and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi have been designated as "wanted accused" by the Mumbai police in relation to the incident.

They have indicated that Gupta and Pal were getting orders from the two Bishnoi brothers.

An official at first stated that his brother is thought to be in Canada or the US, but Lawrence Bishnoi is incarcerated in Gujarat's Sabarmati Central Prison in another case.
