Students at Aligarh Muslim University plan a "Dawat" on campus for Swara-Fahad's wedding; the event sparks controversy
However, on the other hand, some people criticized the idea of organizing the party on campus, stating that it would lead to unnecessary violence.

Digital Desk: A group of Aligarh Muslim University students intends to host a wedding reception for political leader and Bollywood actors Fahad and Swara.

Swara and Fahad had a court marriage, and their wedding was under the Special Marriage Act.

The planned wedding reception has sparked controversy, with former AMU student union president Fazal Hassan claiming that the wedding reception has been organized for the newlywed couple on campus. He also stated that the university would not remain closed during the occasion.

However, on the other hand, some people criticized the idea of organizing the party on campus, stating that it would lead to unnecessary violence.

Nadeem Ansari, former vice president of the student union, claims that such celebrations don’t suit the decorum of the university campus and also mentions that "if Shaheen Bagh and Tukde Tukde Gang people come inside the campus, anti-India slogans could be raised." He also added that there are many restaurants in Aligarh where the celebration can take place. He even pointed out that Swara-Fahad‘s marriage is not even accepted under "SARIAH LAW"

Contradicting Nadeem Ansari’s statements, Fazal Hassan defends that Fahad is an old student on the campus, and they are deciding the date for the occasion. He also said the celebration will host 50 to 100 responsible people from society and the media. He stood by his decision, saying, "This is not my campus, and neither does it belong to any other person. We can atleast give a dawat to our beloved friend”.

Swara Bhasker's engagement with Fahad triggered a debate on social media, and the latest take has come from All India Muslim Jamaat president Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi who said Swara Bhasker cannot marry Fahad without accepting Islam first.
