Digital Desk: Two popular Indian mithais now hold the top spot in the world's best dessert rankings. Rasmalai, a typical cheese dessert with roots in West Bengal, was placed 31st, while Kaju Katli, a delectable Indian sweet, was ranked 41st in the most recent TasteAtlas rankings.
France's iconic Crepes took first place, while Brazil's Bombocado, a peculiar coconut-flavoured pastry, took second place. Peru's famed Queso helado, a dessert with a texture akin to ice cream, came in third, with Italy's iconic Tiramisu coming in fourth.
France showcased its passion for dessert making once more, with two more entries in the top ten. While Creme Brulee was ranked fifth, Souffle au Chocolat was ranked ninth.
Baklava, which is known for its layers of phyllo dough, honey, and nuts, was ranked 27th. Brownies and chocolate chip cookies came in at 49th and 50th place, respectively.
