U19 World Cup 2022: India crowned as champions against England
Digital Desk: The Indian team won the U19 World Cup 2022 final against England. The match was played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, West Indies.

India pushed a target of 190, with Raj Angad Bawa and Nishant Sindhu putting up a match-winning grip of 67 runs in simply 86 balls to force the team to its fifth World crown.

Towards the end of the U19 World Cup 2022 final, the match turned tense as India lost two short wickets in Bawa and Kaushal Tambe, still requiring 14 off 22 balls.

However, the grip and power of the match were held by Dinesh Bana. With 12 required off the last 18 balls, England captain Tom Prest passed the ball to David Sales, and he jumped off with a contrary delivery which was recreated down the leg for a four by Sindhu.

The left-hander played a single on the following ball and got his first fifty. Sindhu top-scored for India with 50 points in this match alongside vice-captain Shaik Rasheed, who even achieved 50 runs.

With the needed runs in single digit, Bana determined to complete it in class and hit two consecutive sixes to brook the team home.

The duo was running agreeably with a 46 run stand between them before they left after ending his second consecutive fifty in the tournament. Dhull exited an over behind, departing India toiling at 97-4 with 92 runs more needed from 21 overs and six wickets in arrow.

While the India U19 team will be glancing to win a record fifth title, the most by any team in the history of the 26-year-old tournament, the England U19 team will be looking to make the most of their first-ever final impression ever since their maiden victory in 1998.
