: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off
India's fifth and South India's first Vande Bharat train from Bengaluru on
Friday. It will connect Mysuru and Chennai.

"The train will improve connectivity between Chennai's
industrial hub, Bengaluru's Tech and Startup hub, and the famous tourist city
    of Mysuru," the PMO said.

"If run at full capacity, the train can reach Chennai from
Bengaluru in just three hours," a railway official told PTI.

The first Vande Bharat Express ran on the New
    Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route on February 15, 2019.

The upgraded Vande Bharat Express provides a smooth and
    comfortable travel experience.

    Here
are some of the features that make it different from other express and
    high-speed trains in India:

    · The train's exterior is
aerodynamically designed. It includes Kavach technology, a cutting-edge safety
    feature.

    ·Kavach technology is an
indigenously developed system that aids in train collision prevention. It has a
top speed of 160 kms per hour. The bogies are outfitted with fully suspended
traction motors and a cutting-edge suspension system. This improves the
smoothness and safety of the run.

It has a driver's cabin at each end, allowing for quicker turnaround at
terminating stations. All classes have reclining seats, and executive coaches
    also have 180-degree rotating seats.

There are 32-inch screens that provide audio-visual passenger information and
infotainment to passengers and can be aligned in the direction of travel.

The train has disabled-friendly washrooms and seat handles with seat numbers in
    Braille.

    • There
are four platform side cameras outside the coach, as well as rearview cameras.
A sophisticated regenerative braking system saves approximately 30% of
electricity. The intelligent braking system contributes significantly to
improved acceleration and deceleration. In the event of an emergency, the loco
pilot and train guard, as well as passengers, can communicate with each other.

    • Other features of the train include automatic doors, fire
sensors, CCTV cameras, on-board Wi-Fi, a three-hour battery backup, and GPS.
The Vande Bharat Express coaches are lighter than those on other trains.
Furthermore, the windows are wider, and the coaches have more luggage space.
