Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, had earlier on October 28 reaffirmed New Delhi's determination to retake Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that all refugees would regain their homes and lands.

Digital Desk: Commander of the Northern Army, Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi stated on Tuesday that the Indian Army is prepared to carry out commands such as reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

"In terms of the Indian Army, it will obey any directives issued by the Indian government. We'll always be prepared for such orders when they come, "Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, commander of the Northern Army, commented on the Defence Minister's declaration that PoK would be returned.

The Northern Army Commander, Dwivedi, spoke about the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. "The military is always ready to ensure that ceasefire understanding is never broken as it is in the interest of both nations, but if broken at any time, we will give them a befitting reply," he said.

"Over 50% of the population is under 25 in the country. If we accept them as Agniveers, educate them, and then release them, we will absorb some of them, employ others in the paramilitary and police forces, and allow the others to work for themselves " he declared.

"Nearly 160 terrorists, 130 of whom are located north of the Pir Panjal and 30 of whom are located south of the Pir Panjal, are waiting to launch. There are 53 local terrorists and 82 Pakistani militants in the entire hinterland "He went on to say.
