New Delhi: Parliament to begin its 25-day Winter Session, during which 36 Bills are expected to be passed including one to cancel the farm laws, will begin today. The opposition is likely to corner the government on issues including the Pegasus row and price rise.

The Farm Laws Repeal Bill has been listed for introduction and passage in the Lok Sabha on the first day. It will be introduced by the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge while speaking to the reporters said that the government shoulg bring a bull to give legal status to MSP. The protesting farmers have said that they would continue to raise this demand, even after the repeal of the farm laws. The Trinamool and Left Parties have also pressured the government on this.

The opposition also demanded compensation to families of the 700 farmers who have died during the farm laws protests.

The three farm laws passed by the Centre had met with unprecedented opposition and protests from farmers, especially in the northern states of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the laws would be repealed as the government failed to convince a certain section of the farmers.
