    Digital Desk: According to officials, a woman has been held in the Baramulla area of Jammu and Kashmir for reportedly duping people into believing she was a police officer to obtain a job offer.

    The complainant, Wasif Hassan, a local of the Kunzer neighbourhood in the north Kashmir district, told the police on Friday that a woman approached him on a bus and pretended to be a police officer, according to the police.

    Additionally, they stated that the woman gave her name as Ashia and claimed to be a sub-inspector.

    She reassured the complainant that she had the authority to get him hired as a constable in the J-K Police. Hasan offered her Rs 10,000 after promising her a job, according to a police spokesperson.

    Later, the suspect got in touch with Hasan once more and demanded more cash so that his appointment letter could be delivered quickly. The representative stated that she assured him the procedure would be finished in two to three days.

    Hasan reported the incident to the Kunzer police station since he thought it might be a fraud, and as a result, a file was opened and an investigation began, he continued.

    The accused was arrested by the police throughout the investigation, and it was later discovered that he was Bisma Yousuf Sheikh, a native of Tappie Khag in the Budgam district.

    She had fraudulently received a police uniform and Rs 10,000 from Hasan, according to the investigators, who also discovered these items in her hands.
