Nadu's Thiruvarur district set himself on fire to commit suicide. After his
parents rejected his plea to transfer to a different school, he took the
drastic action. The incident happened on August 22's morning, a Monday.
color:black">Sanjay, the student in Class 9, hails from Peralam in the
Thiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu.
In Peralam, Sanjay
attended a private school. According to reports, Sanjay received written
assignments from the classroom. Sanjay had told his parents that he wanted to
move to a different school since he was worried about the homeworks. His
parents, however, turned down his requests.
This made Sanjay feel
even more pressured, so on the morning of August 22, he doused himself in
gasoline and set himself at home. His parents hurried upstairs when they heard
him screaming. At the Tiruvarur Government Medical College Hospital, he was
saved and given a bed.
But on August 23, the
boy passed away without benefiting from the medication. The incident has been
reported to the Peralam Police, who are currently looking into it.
