    encountered casteist taunts, was assaulted, and expelled from school by a
    former village chief for failing to wear a uniform, according to police.

    ex-pradhan.



    color:#252525">The police claimed that although the accused is not an officer
    nor a teacher, he regularly misbehaves with both teachers and students while at
    school. According to Girija Shankar Yadav, the Chauri police station's
    in-charge, Dubey questioned the girl, a Class 8 student at a government school,
    on Monday about why she wasn't wearing the uniform.
