    According to West Bengal CID sources, three detained Jharkhand MLAs met Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati

    On July 31, Bengal Police formally detained the suspended Congress leaders, who were thereafter held in state CID custody for ten days.

    were allegedly found in possession of almost Rs. 50 lakhs in Howrah, West
    Bengal, reportedly visited Himanta Biswa Sarma on their trip to Guwahati,
    according to CID sources.

    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">The three Jharkhand MLAs (Irfan Ansari,
    Rajesh Kachchap, and Naman Bixal Kongari), who were suspended by the Congress,
    reportedly met Sarma in Guwahati and were paid Rs 50 lakhs by a local
    businessman in Kolkata, according to CID sources. Their reported encounter
    with the Assam CM's specifics were unknown.

    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachchap, and Naman
    Bixal Kongari, three Jharkhand MLAs, were detained by the West Bengal Police on
    July 30 when they were travelling in a car with around Rs 50 lakh in cash.



    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">On July 31, Bengal Police formally detained
    the suspended Congress leaders, who were thereafter held in state CID custody
    for ten days.



    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">The three MLAs were allegedly involved in a
    scheme to undermine the Congress Legislature Party in Jharkhand as well as
    "misleading" other lawmakers, according to Avinash Pande, the
    Congress general secretary and Jharkhand in-charge, who spoke at a press
    conference after their detention.

    resist such attempts in unison, "barring a few black sheep," and the
    JMM-led government is entirely "safe and stable."



    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">Pande said that the Hemant Soren-led
    administration in Jharkhand is entirely "safe and stable" while
    accusing the BJP of trying to overthrow it.

    been attempts to topple the administration in Jharkhand for the past two years,
    and that occasionally, legislators are approached, threatened, or offered incentives.



    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">It's interesting to note that Pande also
    claimed the chief minister was contacting Jharkhand MLAs to try to overthrow
    the government.



    mso-themecolor:text1">He claimed that Union ministers were threatening MLAs and
    that the chief minister of a state was taking part in the campaign. But Pande
    didn't ask for anyone's name.



    mso-themecolor:text1">West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee plans to reorganise the
    cabinet and bring in 4-5 new members.
