AK-47s found at home of Jharkhand CM's aide belonged to Ranchi cops: Police
The police added that the officers had been suspended immediately for their careless actions.

Digital Desk: The Ranchi Police issued a statement announcing the suspension of two of its officers for storing their firearms in Prem Prakash's residence.

The police claim that on August 23, after finishing their shift, the cops visited an acquaintance who just so happened to be a staff member at Prem Prakash's Jharkhand residence. According to the officers, they went to Prakash's house because of the severe weather, kept their rifles and ammunition in the almirahs, and took the keys with them.

The police claimed that on August 24, when they went back to get their rifles, they discovered a raid in progress at the location and were unable to retrieve their firearms.

The police added that the officers had been suspended immediately for their careless actions.

The two AK-47 guns and 60 cartridges were taken from Prem Prakash's house by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), who is thought to be a close friend of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Two AK-47s were allegedly discovered by ED investigators while investigating Prem Prakash's Jharkhand home as part of an investigation into illegal mining involving Rs 100 crore.

The weapons found in Prem Prakash's home, an AL-47, belonged to police security staff, according to Vinod Kumar, SHO of Argora Police Station.
