Digital Desk: A DGCA official said on Saturday that a Bangalore-bound Akasa Air flight from here returned to the city airport due to a burning odour in the cabin, which later turned out to be caused by a bird attack.

"Due to the burning smell in the cabin, the aircraft VT-YAE that was operating Akasa Air flight AKJ1103 from Mumbai to Bangalore had to make an air turnback. As the force grew, the scent got worse "the official claimed.
The airline's reaction to the situation was still waiting.
However, no other abnormalities, including in engine parameters, were discovered, according to the DGCA official.
"After landing during the inspection, bird remains were discovered on engine number 1 of the aeroplane," he said, adding that "the burning smell was caused by a bird impact."
Akasa Air began operations on August 7 of this year.
