    Amid the Rise in Covid cases, PM Modi holds a meeting with all state CMs through video Conference

    The Increase of Covid cases in India shows a massive increase causing concern about a possible fourth wave of the pandemic.


    Digital Desk: During a surge in COVID-19 cases in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a video conference meeting with chief ministers of states to assess the situation.


    The virtual meeting started at 12 PM. The meeting also includes senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, officials from their respective ministries, and the Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers.


    According to Union Health Ministry data released on Wednesday, India recorded 2,927 new COVID infections in a single day, bringing the total number of cases to 4,30,65,496 and the active caseload to 16,279.


    Pm Modi further said that despite managing the COVID crisis well compared to other countries, we are now seeing an increase in cases in states. We must remain vigilant. It is clear that the COVID challenge has yet to be met: PM Modi, after speaking with state chief ministers about the COVID-19 situation in the country.


    According to sources, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan will make a presentation on the current state of COVID, the range of vaccination, particularly the booster drive, and the trajectory of cases in specific states.


    PM Narendra Modi also added, " From giving the facility of health infrastructure to give ample supply of oxygen and all the necessities needed to prevent the rising surge of covid government has reached out as a helping hand to the citizens."


    According to Prime Minister Modi, vaccinating children is a priority, and Covid-appropriate behaviour in public places is required.


    The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) granted emergency use authorization to Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for children aged 6 to 12 years and Corbevax for children aged 5 to 12. Meanwhile, Zydus Cadila's two-dose Covid-19 vaccine has been approved for people aged 12 and over.
