Digital Desk: Asaduddin Owaisi, a
member of parliament from Hyderabad, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on
Monday as he revealed the National Emblem sculpted on the roof of the New
Parliament Building for "violating constitutional standards."
The courts, government, and
parliament all have distinct authorities under the Constitution. Owaisi, who
also serves as the head of the All India Masjlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM),
tweeted that the prime minister shouldn't have unveiled the national
emblem atop the new parliament building.
The Speaker of the Lok Sabha
represents the Lok Sabha, which is independent of the government, Owaisi stated
in reference to Om Birla's attendance at the event. Every rule of the
constitution has been broken by the PM.
Hardeep Puri, the minister for urban
affairs, attended the occasion as well.
The emblem is said to be constructed
of bronze, weigh 9,500 kg, and stand 6.5 metres tall. It has been cast at the
top of the new Parliament building's Central Foyer. To sustain the insignia, a
steel support system weighing roughly 6,500 kg has been built.
According to the government, the
concept sketch and casting process for the National Emblem that will be
displayed on the roof of the new Parliament building went through eight
different stages, from clay modelling and computer graphics through bronze
casting and polishing.
Modi claimed in a tweet that after revealing the cast of the
national anthem, he spoke with construction workers involved in building the
new Parliament. "I had a tremendous exchange of ideas with the Shramjeevis
who worked on creating the Parliament. We applaud their efforts and will never
forget what they did for our country "According to the PM's tweet.
