Digital Desk: The top students in this year's CBSE Class XII examinations received perfect 100s across the board.
Because it has been practiced recently, the CBSE has not formally announced a country topper or toppers to "avoid unhealthy competition." However, at least two students got perfect scores on all their assignments.
Yuvakshi Vig, a 17-year-old student at Amity International School Noida, is one of them. She had taken the CBSE exams for English, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Painting.
She was thrilled to learn that she received a perfect 100 on each test when the results were announced on Friday morning.
"I didn't really foresee it. I had focused entirely on what I was doing and was only hoping for the best result," she said.
Tanya Singh, 18, a student at Delhi Public School in Bulandshahr, is the other. She took the CBSE exams for English, History, Economics, Geography, and Hindustani Vocal Music and received a perfect score in every one of them.
Although both students are thrilled with their results, they are also aware that these grades will not be sufficient to admit them to the programs and colleges of their choice because they both want to attend Delhi University, which as of this year, has adopted the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
Tanya wants to study B.A. (Honors) history, whereas Yuvakshi wants to study B.A. (Honors) psychology.
"I want to attend either Hindu College or Miranda House for my studies. Although I know my class XII grades won't matter, I'm not concerned. Tanya said all of the CUET exams I've taken so far had gone very well.
The school-leaving class, which received its results on Friday, completed most of Classes 11 and 12 online. While many people found it difficult to transition from offline to online, Yuvakshi and Tanya claimed it went without a hitch.
A large number of students received perfect scores in individual subjects. Business Studies (4,710) and Hindustani Music Vocal were the subjects with the highest number of students scoring 100. (4,634),
Physical Education (4,286), Chemistry (3,548), and Mathematics (3,548 students) (2,890). While the board has not released a list of top scorers, it will award merit certificates to the top 0.1 percent scorers in each subject.
