CWC meet up to approve the schedule for the election of the President of Congress
The Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet to discuss and approve the final schedule for the election of the President of Congress.

Digital Desk: On Sunday afternoon, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet to discuss and approve the final schedule for the election of Congress president.

The CWC is expected to hold a virtual meeting on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will also approve the final date schedule for the upcoming election for Congress party president.

This follows the resignation of the party's senior leader, Gulam Nabi Azad, on Friday.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi's refusal to run for president has turned the election into a challenge for the Congress party.

Meanwhile, the Congress party finished its internal elections. The party announced that the presidential election would be held between August 21 and September 20, but despite several attempts, Rahul Gandhi has yet to clarify his position.

The Central Election Authority, according to sources, has made preparations to complete the election process on time. The authority's chairman is awaiting a meeting of the Congress Working Committee, which will announce the election dates for the position of chairman, after which the authority will notify the public.

According to sources, the process appears to be stuck because Rahul Gandhi is unwilling to run for the position of Congress president, despite all efforts to persuade him.

Meanwhile, the Congress Party plans to launch the 148-day 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Kanyakumari on September 7 under the leadership of party leader Rahul Gandhi.

The five-month journey is expected to cover 3,500 kilometers and more than 12 states. Every day, the padayatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 kilometers.

The Yatra will consist of padayatras, rallies, and public meetings attended by senior Congress leaders such as Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
