Digital Desk: As the counting of votes is underway for the Delhi Assembly Elections, the latest trends show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking an early lead in 41 seats and crossing the majority mark after the counting started at 8 a.m. on Saturday. However, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is leading in around 29 seats.
According to the Election Commission data, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is ahead of Parvesh Verma of BJP in the New Delhi seat. AAP has won the last two Delhi Assembly elections and is
waiting for a third consecutive win in the national capital. However, the BJP is hoping for a comeback after 27 long years and regain power. The Congress, which was in power for 15 years, had faced failure in the last two assembly elections and could not win a single seat.
The final results will be declared by 6 pm. The results will decide whether AAP will continue to rule the national capital or BJP will return after 27 years.
