Delhi to host India’s largest shopping festival from January 2023: Check details
The CM further stated that the festival will have 200 concerts for entertainment, and food walks, and will also offer huge discounts on products.

Digital Desk: For the first time in India, Delhi will host its first-ever government-backed shopping festival from January 28 to February 26 next year, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday.

The CM further stated that the festival will have 200 concerts for entertainment, and food walks, and will also offer huge discounts on products.

Kejriwal said, addressing a digital press briefing, "The Delhi Shopping Festival will be held from January 28 to February 26 for 30 days (in 2023). This will be India's largest shopping festival in history. It will begin the following year. We'll likely make it the largest shopping event on the planet in a few years. The government wants to make this festival meet worldwide standards."

The Delhi Shopping Festival was one of the ambitious initiatives mentioned in the Rozgaar Budget 2022–23, which was introduced by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in March of this year. According to Kejriwal, the festival will increase employment and the local economy.

Kejriwal stated that the government will also work with travel agents to offer unique vacation packages for people who reside outside of Delhi that include travel by plane or train, hotel accommodations, and a presence at the festival.

To keep the festival's high standards, customers will receive big discounts on products during the festival. There will be exhibitions on technology, wellness, gaming, and spirituality.

"People who live outside of Delhi should reserve their tickets and block the dates to attend the shopping fair. Throughout the celebration, Delhi will be dressed as a bride for 30 days. Major marketplaces and shopping centres will all be decked. People would have an unparalleled shopping experience, Kejriwal said.

According to the chief minister, visitors to the shopping festival would also get a taste of Delhi's art and culture. The purpose of the event is for the government to encourage tourism in Delhi, where visitors will also be able to taste a wide range of cuisines, including delicacies from the national capital.

He added, "Every group in society will have something to enjoy at our largest shopping event. The 30-day event will offer something for everyone, from the rich to the middle class to the poor. Additionally, it won't solely revolve around shopping. Games, live performances, and concerts featuring some of the biggest performers in the nation will provide them with endless enjoyment."
