EN-IN">Digital Desk: A woman, her two daughters, and their driver were discovered
dead late on Wednesday night in a three-story structure in Kandivali West that
    was once a hospital.

EN-IN">According to police, one of the deceased, the driver, and the
17-year-old daughter killed the woman and her 24-year-old daughter from a
previous marriage before taking their own lives.

EN-IN">The owner of a paan shop nearby noticed the 60-year-old motorist with a
sickle in the compound at about 11.30 p.m. and a few minutes later, heard
ladies yelling for aid. He peered inside the building because he thought
something wasn't right, but he was unable to see anything. He called the police
    command centre.

EN-IN">The shop owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I heard
screaming and since I had seen the driver with a sickle in his hand, I knew
    something was wrong.

EN-IN">At 11.40 p.m., a police patrol van arrived at the location. The team had
to force open the closed main gate in order to get into the structure.

EN-IN">The bodies of the 45-year-old mother and her daughter from her first
marriage were discovered by the police squad on the second level. Vishal Thakur,
the deputy commissioner of police for zone 11, stated that both of them had
suffered serious wounds and that the marks on their hands suggested they had
not been murdered while they were asleep.

EN-IN">On further search, the police officers found the driver and the
17-year-old daughter dead, a suspected suicide, on the first floor.

EN-IN">Four notes were found in the driver’s pockets. Two notes were written by
the driver and addressed to the woman’s second husband, who is currently
staying with his younger son in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. One suicide note was
written by the teenager for her father, "an officer from Kandivali police
station said," adding they were examining the fourth note.

EN-IN">The four bodies were taken to Shatabdi Hospital for a post-mortem after the
police conducted a panchnama on them.

EN-IN">The policeman claimed that they had found the sickle that was allegedly
used to murder the mother-daughter team. The sickle was sent to the Kalina
Forensic Science Laboratory for chemical and DNA analysis of the blood stains
on it after a murder case was registered.

EN-IN">The hospital in the second husband's mother's name was in Kandivali,
according to the officers looking into the case, but after her death 15 years
ago, it was shut down. The woman and her daughters started to occupy the space.

EN-IN">They were joined by the driver, who was the second husband's employee
years ago. In one of his suicide letters, the driver stated his dissatisfaction
with the second husband and the woman fighting and the fact that he mostly
resided in his hometown of Indore with his nine-year-old son in one of his
suicide letters that he had written in Hindi, according to a police official.

EN-IN">The driver was close to the younger daughter and her father because he
had been living with the family, according to Thakur, who also noted that the
driver's suicide notes discussed the family conflicts that appeared to be the
    cause of the murders.

EN-IN">The family travelled to Indore last week to attend a close relative's
funeral, the second husband told the police. On Sunday, all four travelled by
road back to Mumbai, including the driver. According to a police officer, the
guy and his kid were due to travel to Mumbai on Thursday but did not.
