Digital Desk: Registration without late fees for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 will be closed today by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.  Those who have not yet registered for the national exam can do so by going to the official website, gate.iitk.ac.in.

According to the official schedule, registration for the exam with late fees is open until October 7, and registration without paying the late fees is open until today, September 30. 

The registration fee for GATE 2023 exams is 850 for female, SC/ST, and PWD candidates, and 1350 for all others.

After the deadline for registration without late fees has passed, candidates can still register for the exam by paying either Rs 1350 for female, SC/ST, and PwD candidates while Rs 2200 for all other candidates. 

Gate 2023 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) examination for admission to 29 subjects, and candidates can choose up to three examination centers.

Candidates who have completed a degree program in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts or those who are studying in the 3rd or higher year of any undergraduate degree program are eligible to apply for the exam.

The National Coordination Board's gate exam, which is administered by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee), evaluates candidates' comprehensive understanding of a variety of undergraduate subjects, including engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, and the arts.

The GATE results are used by many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in their employment practices and can be used to apply for admission and/or financial aid to postgraduate and doctorate programs in relevant areas.

The GATE exams will be held on February 4, 11, and 12 of 2023.
