She decided to attempt tracking her cell phone's location using her smartwatch, which continued beeping to let her know it was nearby.

Digital Desk: Few people are fortunate enough to recover stolen or misplaced items. One such example happened in Gurugram, where a woman used her smartwatch to track down a phone thief, beat him, and then recover her phone.

On August 28, the incident happened in Gurugram's Sector 23. However, a complaint was filed on October 3; the accused has not yet been taken into custody.

The report stated that a 28-year-old lady employed by a private company had visited the grocery store on the evening of August 28. A man seized the woman's phone as she used it to make a UPI payment by scanning the QR code.

The man fled as the wife yelled an alarm. She then began her quest for the accused.

She decided to attempt tracking her cell phone's location using her smartwatch, which continued beeping to let her know it was nearby. She spent almost three hours exploring Sector 23's roads before finding her phone's precise location.

When she saw the man was using her mobile while parked on a street corner on a motorcycle. The woman came up behind him and hit him in the head, trying to overpower him.

He panicked as a result of the sudden attack, and the phone slipped from his grasp. He abandoned the phone behind as he fled the area.

According to reports, the man transferred almost Rs 50,000 from her bank account to other banks using her UPI PIN during the three hours she spent seeking him.
