    Heavy rainfall to continue over central India for 2-3 days: IMD

    In the upcoming 12 hours, it is projected to deepen into a depression over the northeast Arabian Sea and its surroundings before moving west-northwestward away from the Indian coast.

    According to the India Meteorological Department, widespread and heavy
    rain is predicted to persist over central India for the next two to three days.

    Over
    the northeastern Arabian Sea, as well as the nearby coastal regions of
    Saurashtra & Kutch and southeast Pakistan, there is a clearly defined area
    of low pressure.

    In
    the upcoming 12 hours, it is projected to deepen into a depression over the
    northeast Arabian Sea and its surroundings before moving west-northwestward
    away from the Indian coast.

    Additionally
    active, the monsoon trough is located south of where it usually is.

    anticipated to be active and swing around its typical position.

    mso-themecolor:text1">Currently, the middle troposphere is over central India
    by an east-west shear zone. The following two days are likely to see it
    continue.

    The
    off-shore trough extends at mean sea level from the center of a clearly
    defined low-pressure area over the northeast Arabian Sea, adjacent coastal
    regions of Saurashtra and Kutch, and southeast Pakistan, to the Kerala coast.

    In
    the lower and middle troposphere, a cyclonic circulation is present across the
    western portions of Gangetic West Bengal and its surrounding territories.

    Around
    August 13, a low-pressure region is predicted to develop over the northern Bay
    of Bengal.

    It is expected to intensify during the following 24
    hours before moving west-northwestward.

    Fairly widespread/Widespread rainfall with isolated
    heavy falls, thunderstorms/lightning quite likely over West MP until August 14;
    Chhattisgarh until August 16; Gujarat until August 16; Konkan & Goa and
    Madhya Maharashtra till August 26; all under the influence of the
    aforementioned systems. West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha
    may have isolated, very severe rains through August 16.

     

    Over East Rajasthan,
    Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand until August 16, over West Rajasthan until
    August 13, and over Jammu & Kashmir until August 16, there is a fair chance
    of widespread light rain with isolated heavier showers and
    thunderstorms/lightning. On August 15 and 16, sporadic very heavy rains is also
    possible over East Rajasthan.
