Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda will be arriving in Guwahati today.
Digital Desk: The leaders will be on a three-day visit to Assam with the purpose to inaugurate the new state office of the party, notably the biggest office of the party in the northeastern region on National Highway-27 at Basistha Chariali area in presence of the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday.
Following the event, the leaders will participate in a series of official meetings that are set to take place at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Bhabesh Kalita will serve as the meeting's organiser.
Shah would leave the state on Sunday night following several official engagements, whereas Nadda will leave on Saturday night after attending a few meetings.
Shah will serve as the conference's chair while he is in Assam for a three-day visit.
In addition, Shah will be present at the Sunday Superintendent of Police Conference at the Police Training College in Dergaon.
He would go to the Police Training College in Golaghat's Dergaon later in the day to attend the state superintendents of a police conference.
On Sunday night, Shah will leave Assam from the Jorhat airport.
The Guwahati police released traffic Standard operating procedures (SOPs) on October 5. To ensure public safety before Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Assam, the following vehicle movement restrictions shall be imposed on October 7–9, 2022, in connection with the NEC meeting and related events.
1. On October 7, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., all six-wheeled commercial goods-carrying vehicles must stay off of the sections of NH-27 and NH-17 that pass through Guwahati City.
2. On October 8, 2022, from 7 AM to 11:30 PM, all four-wheeled commercial goods-carrying vehicles must stay off of the sections of NH-27 and NH-17 that pass through Guwahati City.
3. On October 9, 2022, from 8 AM to 11:30 AM, all commercial goods-carrying vehicles (small, medium, and heavy) shall be prohibited from travelling on D.G. Road, A.T. Road, M.G. Road, K.L.B. Road, Taibullah Road, G.N.B. Road, B. Boruah Road, and G.S. Road.
