    Digital Desk: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country has seen 1,557 recoveries from Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, for a current recovery rate of 98.76%, bringing the total number of recoveries from this viral disease to 4,40,91,906.

    The country's current active caseload is 23,193, with active cases accounting for 0.05 percent of total Positive Cases.

    The country currently has a daily positivity rate of 1.52% and a weekly positivity rate of 0.95 %.

    Since the start of the pandemic, the Ministry has conducted 90.01 crore tests in total, with 87,905 tests performed in the last 24 hours.

    According to the Health Ministry, a total of 219.56 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, including 95 crore second doses and 22.03 crore precaution doses, with 42,864 administered in the last 24 hours alone.

    According to preliminary data, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 219.56 Cr (2,19,56,41,807) as of 7 a.m. today.

    COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. So far, the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to over 4.12 Cr (4,12,35,971) adolescents. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for the age group 18-59 years began on April 10, 2022, according to the official statement.

    It is pertinent to note that concern for health have risen in the country as World Health Organization Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan on Friday said that there were over 300 sub-variants and XBB being a recombinant virus is a matter of concern as it is immune evasive
