    J&K: Landslide hits power project site in Kishtwar, one dead and several injured
    In the Kisthwar district of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, the Ratle hydroelectric project is a run-of-the-river project that is being considered for the Chenab river.

    Digital Desk: A landslide struck the Ratle hydroelectric facility in the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir, killing one man and injuring numerous others on Saturday.

    Jitender Singh, the Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Science and Technology, claimed that after learning of the landslide, he spoke with Dr. Devansh Yadav, the district magistrate.

    The minister claimed that the six-person rescue squad dispatched to the scene was also entangled in the rubble. All attempts are being undertaken to rescue individuals who are entrapped beneath the debris, and I am in daily contact with the district administration, added Singh.

    As of November 2018, the project's anticipated cost was ₹ 5281.94  crores. On September 18 of this year, the project's EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contract was granted.
