J&K: Woman Teacher Shot Dead by Terrorists in Kulgam

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti condemned the attack and lashed out at the government over the recent spate of civilian killings.

Digital Desk: A migrant Kashmiri woman was shot at by terrorists in the Gopalpora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Tuesday.

According to reports, the lady later succumbed to her injuries.

The 36 year old woman identified as Rajni Bala was reportedly a school teacher and she was a resident of Samba in the Jammu division.

Meanwhile, the security forces have reached the place and are taking stock of the matter.
This is the most recent in a string of civilian deaths in the Valley. Rahul Bhat, a revenue department official, was slain by militants in Budgam district on May 12. Last week, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists opened fire on TV actress Amreen Bhat in Budgam's Chadoora neighbourhood, killing her.

Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, expressed his sorrow about the tragedy, saying, "Very depressing." This is recent in a long line of targeted killings of defenceless citizens. Condemnation and condolences are hollow, as are government pledges that they will not rest until the situation is normalised. "May the souls of the departed rest in peace. (sic)"

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti condemned the attack and lashed out at the government over the recent spate of civilian killings.

Mufti taking the Twitter wrote, "Despite GOIs fake claims about Kashmir being normal its obvious that targeted civilian killings are on the rise & a deep cause of concern. Condemn this act of cowardice which sadly plays into the vicious anti muslim narrative spun by BJP (sic)."
