Kejriwal appeals Centre to put Lakshmi-Ganesha on Indian currency notes along with Mahatma Gandhi's photo
Kejriwal’s solution for the falling rupee, Lakshmi-Ganesha on currency notes

Digital Desk: On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the Government to include images of Lord Ganesha and goddess Lakshmi on currency notes alongside Mahatma Gandhi's. He claims that placing images of gods on currency will ensure that the people of the country are blessed in their attempts to improve the economy.

"If the gods appear on the Rupee notes, the entire country will benefit. Lakshmi is the goddess of prosperity, while Lord Ganesha is the deity of protection "Kejriwal said.

He began his statement by saying that India's economy is in crisis, with the rupee's value steadily declining. He stated that numerous actions are being taken to guarantee that the economy develops, including the construction of new schools and hospitals, as well as the improvement of the country's infrastructure.

However, he stated that sometimes, despite our greatest efforts, there is no positive outcome and we require the gods' graces. The chief minister went on to say that businesspeople maintain idols of the two Hindu gods in their offices and do puja every day before starting work.

Kejriwal asserted that similarly, putting images of the gods on currency notes will ensure that the efforts made to strengthen the country's economy reap the fruit.

He further stated that the images of the idols may be put into the new monies that are created each month, eliminating the need for a recall of the present currency notes. He stated that it will gradually spread among the populace.

Using Indonesia as an example, Kejriwal stated that despite having a Hindu majority of less than 2% of the total population, Lord Ganesha is emblazoned on their banknotes. "I believe this is a tremendous step that the Central Government should take," Kejriwal stated.

Controversy: BJP Slams Kejriwal on Kejriwal's remarks

BJP leaders attacked the Delhi chief minister's suggestion, claiming he was merely attempting to break his "Aurangzeb image."

"Kejriwal cannot even clean the Yamuna," BJP MLA Manoj Tiwari stated. His deeds contradict his statements. How can anyone listen to his words if his thinking is flawed?"

"Kejriwal's whole politics is founded on the concept of saying anything to generate political mileage without any consideration for what should be done or if it should be an agenda of governance," BJP leader Nalin Kohli remarked of the AAP chief.
