Karnataka: Lingayat Seer Found Dead At Ramanagara Mutt
A report of unnatural death has been filed at the Kudur police station in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka.

Digital Desk: On Monday, Basavalinga Swami of Sri Kanchugal Bande Mutt was discovered dead in a room at his mutt in Ramanagara district, weeks after a Lingayat seer in Karnataka's Belagavi district committed himself.

A report of unnatural death has been filed at the Kudur police station in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka. "A two-page death note was discovered in the room of the mutt in Ramnagara district where the pontiff's body was discovered yesterday, after an unnatural death," police stated, according to news agency ANI.

A two-page death note was retrieved beside the seer's body. According to the note, the seer was tormented by a few people who threatened him with slander. Basavalinga Swami, 45, was the mutt's seer for almost 25 years.

Earlier this month, allegedly distressed by his name being dragged into an audio linked to the sex scandal of Chitradurga Murugha mutt seer, Guru Madivaleshwara Mutt Pontiff Basava Siddalinga Swamiji committed suicide by hanging himself in his room in Karnataka's Belagavi district, according to police sources.

Meanwhile, mutt devotees are conducting a flash protest, seeking legal action and the arrest of two ladies who spoke disparagingly about the deceased swamiji in the claimed audio clip.

The devotees are refusing to let the cops take the swamiji's dead body. The women whose conversation was exposed to social media are said to be Satyakka from Managundi village in Dharwad and Rudramma Hasinala from Gangavathi in Koppal district.
